My Not So Normal Summer Vacation

My family decided to take a fun summer trip. We chose to go to Massanutten, even though it was summer. We thought it would be a normal summer vacation likes of the others we have taken before, but we have never been more wrong.
The trip all started with the whole family, 5 of us, plus our dog, squishing into our all too small car. The entire way it felt like you were trapped in a box that smelled of wet dog for 4 hours. When we finally got there, after getting lost many times, it turned out that we were about 3 hours too early to check into the resort. We decided to go grocery shopping for the week that we would be there. After about an hour of searching for a store, we finally found a Food Lion. At the store we bought plenty of food, probably a little too much to be honest.
We finally made it back to the resort at the check in time, after unloading our car, which was packed to its max, we went in to explore our home for the next week. When I walked into the resort I could not believe my eyes. The place was huge; there were 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. In the living room was a large flat screen T.V. where you could watch T.V. or play the Xbox that they provide for you along with 5 games. Everything was perfect except for one small thing, there was no fridge. All of the groceries that we just bought had no place to be kept cold at; we had to use as much as possible as fast as we could.
The next morning I awoke to the smell of fresh eggs being cooked, along with crispy bacon. I was a little worried about the quality of the food since it had been left out all night, but it smelled so good, I didn’t even care.  I got dressed in 5 seconds and ran out to the kitchen to be greeted by my family, eating a very large breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, yogurt, frosted flakes, toast, and a big glass of milk or orange juice. We tried to eat as much as we could because we knew that whatever was left over would have to be thrown away.
After we threw away all of the food that would go bad by the end of the day, we went to go check out the surrounding views and see what there was to do. We found a very large hill, which was used as a tubing hill, instead of a skiing slope. Since there was no snow on the ground there was a special tarp down that allowed you to tube on the grass, we had such a fun time. Once we left there we went to the pool where we dove off a diving board, well I guess it was more like falling off the diving board. We did the same thing over and over for about 3 days.
On the 4th day we decided to do something different, we went zip lining. My brother and sister loved it, as for me, who is deathly scared of heights, did not have that much fun. I went up the steps and started walking along this tree trunk that was about 6 feet off the ground and I was okay, until I reached this plank of wood that you had to cross, at this point I freaked. The guy had to come and basically rescue me and help me down. That day I was not a happy camper about all that had happened.
The next day we went golfing, we hit some golf balls on the driving range. Apparently I was doing pretty well; everyone was praising me for how far I could hit the ball. This guy that I had never meet before came over and asked if he could show me some pointers. Well since I thought he was pretty cute of course I agreed, but it turns out I’m the better one at golf. He tried to show me how he hits the ball he completely misses the ball and ends up throwing the golf club half way down the course. I started laughing so hard I could not stop, he eventually walked away and I never saw or talked to him again.
After 6 eventful days at the resort we were definitely ready to go home. So we packed up our car and headed back towards home. The drive home was a lot easier because everyone just slept, but the wet dogs smell was still there. This vacation was definitely one to remember, because it was not a normal summer vacation.
